Review for Dune Box Set from İthaki (2020)
Title: Dune
Author: Frank Herbert
Translation: Dost Körpe
Illustrator: Ozan Korkut
Publisher: İthaki
In this article, I will try to give information and review the Dune (Turkish) boxset from the İthaki publication. This is not a literature review.
This box set, which contains the original six books written by Frank Herbert, has a very minimalist design. It is a very quality boxset, which you can easily feel and see.
All books have hard-cover and dust jackets, which have wonderful illustrations. Endsheets and flyleafs are compatible colored with dust jackets. All printing at the cover and spine is enriched with silver gilding (I think gold gilding may be a better choice). Books’ dimension is roughly A5 size.
Book pages are not very thin or very thick; they are as thick as they should be (maybe a little bit thin, but I think it is normal — and better — for books that have this many pages). Page numbers on the page’s vertical sides are a very good touch. The text is highly readable with the fonts and sizes used. The box of the boxset is made of very thick cardboard. It also has a poster, which is folded, so it is not so usable.
This box set is perfect before watching Dune: Part Two which is cover the first book with Dune: Part One. I am sure you can’t stop after the first book (I am reading 6th book -Chapterhouse: Dune- at the moment).
